The Transportation Ministry is set to equip dozens of planes with a new system that will enable the identification of the captain by means of a special electronic encoding in order to prevent terrorists from taking control of the cockpit, Army Radio reported on Tuesday.
Reportedly, Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz approved the activation of the new system, which was developed by Elbit Systems at a cost of tens of millions of shekels.
