PM: Hamas members will be arrested at roadblocks

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon spoke on Thursday of Hamas's participation in the Palestinian elections. He said Israel's objection came solely from the fact that they are an armed organization that is determined to destroy Israel. Sharon stressed that even if Israel would retreat to its borders before the Six-Day War - something Sharon said would not happen - Hamas would still not accept Israel's existence. If that were not the case, the prime minister stated in a press conference, Israel would not object to its entry into politics. Still, he said that Israel would not interfere with the election process. Sharon noted that the IDF would continue its policy of apprehending wanted Hamas members.
