"Today, under the autumn skies of Jerusalem, I bow my head in the memory of a friend, a commander and a leader," Prime Minister Ariel Sharon told the crowd gathered at Mt. Herzl to commemorate 10 years since the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin. "I loved Yitzhak, even when we did not see eye to eye. We went together a long way in the IDF, [sharing] a friendship that lasted also when we parted political paths. "Rabin is not only the man and the leader who was assassinated. He is also the generation that carried on its shoulders the journey of the rebirth of this nation," Sharon said.
