PM: Upgraded Kassam constitutes an escalation in terror activity

The upgraded Kassam rocket which struck northern Ashkelon on Thursday constitutes an escalation in terror activities from the Gaza Strip, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told ministers at the start of Sunday's weekly cabinet meeting.
"We will continue to respond, to plan, and to attack those responsible for terror in every corner of the Gaza Strip," he said, adding that Defense Minister Ehud Barak has been instructed to intensify the Israeli military response to rocket attacks.
