Police appoint new Judea Samaria District chief

After serving as the lieutenant to two consecutive district commanders, Cmdr. Shlomi Ka'atabi will officially receive command Monday over the Judea and Samaria District of the Israel Police. Ka'atabi, who was just granted the rank of commander earlier this month, is replacing Cmdr. Yisrael Yitzhaki, who took command of the Border Police earlier this month. Ka'atabi served as assistant district commander to both Yitzhaki as well as to his predecessor, now Assistant Police Chief Cmdr. Shachar Ayalon. His second-in-command will also be a seasoned veteran of the district, Lt.-Cmdr. Eli Zamir. Zamir previously served as the Hebron Subdistrict Chief.
