The man who went on a rampage with a construction vehicle in Jerusalem on Thursday afternoon was a 26-year-old resident of the city, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said on Thursday evening.
Rosenfeld identified the assailant as Mar'i al-Rdaidah from Beit Hanina in east Jerusalem.
Iit wasn't clear whether the man, who was married and fathered one child, worked on his own or was affiliated with a militant group, police said.
Rdaidah rammed a towering yellow front-end loader into a police car, flipped it into the air, and then smashed it against a bus before he was shot dead by police on the street.
