Police said Tuesday that crime in the country had fallen 50 percent since Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was hospitalized last Wednesday after suffering a massive stroke. Police spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld did not provide figures or give a breakdown of different offenses but said that since Sharon was rushed to Jerusalem crime had halved nationwide. "It's hard to explain, but since the prime minister became ill there seems to have been a change in people's behavior patterns, their way of thinking," Rosenfeld said.
