Police conducted a preliminary investigation on Saturday into the death of a prisoner who was found dead in his jail cell in Migdal Haemek, apparently after hanging himself
The prisoner, a 31-year-old Upper Nazareth resident with a police record, was arrested on Friday on suspicion that he had been extorting his parents.
A committee of inquiry will investigate the incident further.
