Police probe slayings of two men [p.2]

Two people were murdered in two separate incidents on Friday night, keeping police in the Galilee and the Sharon area working into the early hours of the morning trying to locate suspects and motives in the killings. Akram Taha, 30, was gunned down overnight at the entrance to his Kafr Kassem house. Police said that they believed that the murder was a result of a "romantic" feud that had evolved in the town. Police said that it was still not clear whether the murderer had waited for Taha to return home or had followed him, looking for the opportune moment. By Saturday evening, police had arrested three suspects in Taha's murder, who police said had no previous criminal record. Hours earlier, Galilee police were called to a site in Karmiel where they discovered the body of Shai Marli, 34. Police said they believed that Marli had been murdered, and that there were signs of violence on the body. Shortly after the body was discovered on Friday evening, police requested that the Acre Magistrate's Court issue a gag order prohibiting the publication of details involving the case, including the specific location where the body was found as well as other details concerning the incident or the investigation.
