Police on Monday recommended that those involved in the Israel Tax Authority scandal - including ITA head Jacky Matza, the prime minister's former bureau chief Shula Zaken and businessmen Yoram Karashi and Kobi Ben-Gur - be brought to trial.
The investigation into the corruption scandal, which became public on January 2 after police announced that they had detained 22 people, wrapped up on Monday.
Police said the findings were based on suspicions that Ben-Gur and Karashi had used their influence to promote Matza for the position of ITA chief.
According to the allegations, they also enlisted Matza's and Zaken's aid to appoint close associates to key positions in the ITA.
