Police searching for father who flung kids out of window

Tel Aviv District police were searching on Wednesday for Alexei Kuznetsov, a Bat Yam resident who is suspected of throwing his two children out of a third-floor window.
The children, ages two and five, miraculously survived the seven-meter fall, sustaining only moderate injuries to the head and limbs. Kuznetsov allegedly threw them out of the window of their apartment on Rehov Herzl Wednesday morning and then fled, police said.
The incident occurred at 8:10 a.m. when Kuznetsov, who goes to work in the early morning hours, returned home and allegedly began strangling one of the children, police said. As the children's mother tried to stop him, he proceeded to strangle her and she lost consciousness. That is when the man began to throw the children out the window, neighbors told police.
"I heard the kids screaming," a neighbor said. "I asked the father, 'What are you doing?' And then the kids fell down, first one and then the other."
Police who arrived at the scene found the children lying motionless but conscious near the building's front entrance. Police found the mother in the apartment with signs of strangulation. The children and mother were taken to Wolfson Hospital in Holon.
The woman told police that the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute. Kuznetsov suspected her of cheating and claimed the children were not his, she said. Police said the two were not married but were living together.
Police issued a photograph of him to aid in their search and had alerted all ports that he is wanted by police.
