Police shut Temple Mount to Jews for Muslim holiday

Jerusalem police closed off the Temple Mount to non-Muslims on Tuesday for a Muslim holiday, police said.
Police routinely shut the bitterly-contested Jerusalem holy site to Jewish and Christian visitors during Muslim holidays.
The unannounced closure thwarted plans by a group of right-wing rabbis from the mainstream settler movement to visit Judaism's holiest site.
