Police: Soccer crush investigation to begin Mon.

Israel Police Chief Insp.-Gen. David Cohen announced overnight Sunday that a special investigation into an incident involving soccer fans during which over 20 people were injured would be set up on Monday morning. Two of the injured were on respirators, including an 11-year-old boy, after being crushed when fans tried to rush to the field following a match between Betar Jerusalem-Hapoel Petah Tikva in Jerusalem on Sunday evening. Earlier, Jerusalem District Police Commander Ilan Franco said that the police could not have been expected to prepare for such an event.
