Police were expected to request on Monday that the Tel Aviv Magistrates' Court permit the autopsy of the newborn baby who died from exposure on Sunday shortly after she was born.
The investigators have reportedly sought to determine ethnic and other details that would assist both in finding out the cause of death help identify the baby's mother who abandoned her.
The decision of what to charge the mother with - negligent homicide, manslaughter, or even murder - was only expected to be determined after she would be located, Israel Radio reported.
