An Israeli policeman was lightly wounded Friday after several dozen Palestinians and far-left Israelis pelted police with stones during a protest against the separation barrier going up in east Jerusalem, police said.
The policeman, who was hit in the hand by a stone during the late-morning protest in the city's Shuafat refugee camp, was treated on the scene by medics, Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said.
Several of the demonstrators were arrested on the scene.
The placard-carrying protesters tried to block traffic, and police forcibly removed them from the street.
