Poll: Public backs taking diplomats to Yad Vashem

A vast majority of Israelis favor continuing the long-standing policy of taking visiting foreign dignitaries to Yad Vashem, rather than having them lay a wreath in honor of the IDF soldiers at Mt. Herzl, according to a survey published Thursday. According to the survey, carried out by Keevon Research, Strategy and Communications, 76 percent of Israelis think it is more important for foreign leaders to visit Yad Vashem, while 14% think a visit to Mt. Herzl is more important. The telephone poll was taken of 500 Israeli Jewish adults on July 18, and has a margin of error of 4.5%.
