Poll: Support for Peres up after Vilna'i out

A public survey taken after Matan Vilna'i dropped from the race of Wednesday's upcoming Labor primaries showed that support for current Labor chairman Shimon Peres has increased, as opposed to support for candidate Amir Peretz. Nevertheless, the Peretz camp is still trying to close the gap with Peres, with the bulk of the effort going towards convincing kibbutzim to vote for him. According to Army Radio, Peretz believes that without at least one-third of the kibbutz votes he will have no chance to beat Peres. Peretz met with the Vilna'i camp Monday in order to convince Vilna'i to join him in his effort to become Labor head.
