Representatives of the Secondary School Teachers Organization and the government were reportedly haggling Tuesday evening over the details of a new proposal that would bring an end to the strike that has dragged on for 25 days.
The proposal stipulates that teachers' salaries be raised by 26%, one-third of which the teachers will receive immediately. Moreover, teachers' salaries will be raised by another 5% over the next three years.
The Treasury has yet to approve the proposal, Israel Radio reported.
