Vice Premier Haim Ramon, who was justice minister during the Second Lebanon War, supported a massive ground incursion into Lebanon on the eve of the cease fire even though he was initially opposed to such a move, Ramon said in his Winograd Committee testimony published Thursday.
Ramon said he was in favor of a ground operation because he believed that Israel "must not lose the war."
The vice premier blamed the IDF for "not coming up with the goods." He said the army did not report its true capabilities to the political echelon and accused the IDF of creating an impression that there was no need for a reservist call-up.
