Israeli rap group "Subliminal and the Shadow" threatened to press charges against Meretz Thursday over one of the party's campaign songs.
The tune, which opens with the lyric "Bibi and the Shadow 2006," apparently crudely attacks Likud Chairman Binyamin Netanyahu and Labor leader Amir Peretz.
The rap ensemble's lawyer sent a letter to the Meretz leadership charging that the song damages Subliminal's reputation.
In the coming days, the jingle will be broadcast over the Internet, Army Radio reported. According to Meretz spokesmen, the party did not publicize the song, but rather it was leaked to the public without their consent.
