Egypt has provided Israel with evidence that kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit is alive, according to the London-based Arab daily Asharq Alawsat.
Shalit, according to the report, was being held in the "territories."
In addition, according to Asharq Alawsat, Egypt was trying to convince Israel to accept a prisoner exchange agreement, while a senior Israeli official was expected to visit Egypt in the coming days.
