Report: IDF warned ahead of Kerem Shalom attack

IDF received intelligence two months ahead of the attack at Kerem Shalom ten days ago, in which two soldiers were killed and Cpl. Gilad Shalit was kidnapped. According to a classified document that Israel Radio uncovered, local commanders were instructed to position lookouts monitoring the Israeli side of the border, searching for tunnels. The commanders were also reportedly told to deploy tanks and snipers, fortify the forces in the area surrounding Gaza and dig channels that would block Palestinian tunnels. It was unclear whether these measures were taken.
