Popular caf chain Arcafe refuses to take on Israeli Arab employees and lies to them about their reasons, an Army Radio investigation revealed.
For more than a month, an Arab student from Tel Aviv applied for work at central branches of the chain and was rejected time after time, with the branches claiming that they already had a full staff. A Jewish applicant who presented identical credentials during the same time at the same places was hired immediately.
"Each event-if it occurred-was in complete opposition to company policy and the management's worldview," Arcafe management said in a statement. "The information from Army Radio was a call to action for the company management, who immediately acted to make it clear to branch managers that company policy does not allow discrimination of any kind."
