Mordechai Vanunu will appeal the jail sentence he received for keeping up communications with non-Israelis, Reuters quoted his lawyer Avigdor Feldman as saying.
Vanunu was sentenced to six months in prison after completing a previous 18-year sentence.
"The immediate significance is that my client will not be going back to jail any time soon," Feldman told the news agency, saying he expected a decision on the appeal within three months.
