"The role of this country's leadership is to remind us," said Opposition Leader Tzipi Livni on Tuesday, speaking to Army Radio on the 15th anniversary of prime minister Yitzhak Rabin's assassination.
"The lesson we take from the murder should be for generations and for everyone. It does not have an expiry date," Livni said.

She went on to emphasize the importance of democracy, saying that the education of democratic values is key.
"The role of leadership in this context is not only to preserve the values of Israel as a democratic state but also to tell the truth to the public," she added.
Referring to the peace process, Livni said, "The prime minister is not leading; he is manipulating. And when you manipulate, the price that Israel has to pay keeps rising."
"Someone who wants to prove that there is no partner for peace can do so. These are exhausting, draining negotiations. But someone who wants to come to an agreement that preserves Israel's security and holy sites can do so too."
