Schalit: I hope the nightmare for Goldwasser, Regev families ends soon

Noam Schalit, father of abducted IDF soldier Gilad Schalit, offered words of support for the families of kidnapped IDF reservists Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev on Monday, while at the same time expressing frustration over negotiations to free his son from the custody of Hamas. "We hope that the nightmare of the Goldwasser and Regev families end soon," Schalit began during an interview with Israel Radio. "Three weeks there was a ceasefire agreement with Hamas, but it didn't bring anything new regarding Gilad, aside from hearing from Paris that the prime minister will release hundreds more Palestinians as a goodwill gesture," Schalit said. "I am not against releasing Palestinian prisoners," Schalit continued. "But we cannot release thousands of Palestinian prisoners while Gilad, one prisoner, stays in prison for two years." "After 2 years I don't see that we're closer to releasing Gilad," he added.
