Second dust storm this month carpets Israel

Another dust storm carrying tiny mineral particles from Africa, such as that which hit Israel two weeks ago, has arrived. The Meteorological Service said the pollution, which caused distress in people suffering from asthma and other respiratory problems and dirtied cars and wash hung out to dry, should be cleared out sometime on Monday. While there is no solid evidence that the frequency of such dust storms has increased in the Middle East during the past 50 years, some experts predict there will be many more of them in the future due to desertification and global warming.
