Security cabinet decides against large-scale Gaza incursion for now
By JERUSALEM POST STAFF
Senior ministers decided Wednesday against a large military incursion into the Gaza Strip for the time being, but weighed shutting off electricity to the coastal territory in an attempt to halt Palestinian rocket fire, an official present at the security cabinet meeting said.
This would not necessarily be done immediately, he added.
Although a large-scale army incursion into the Hamas-controlled territory had also been weighed, the ministers decided against immediate action.
