Police were surprised to receive a phone call on Friday afternoon from a 22-year-old security guard who claimed to have shot a man in an apartment in Kiryat Haim, near Haifa. "I shot my friend," the man said. "Send MDA here urgently." After ending the call, he fled the scene. An emergency response team which arrived at the scene discovered the body of a 19-year-old lone IDF soldier - apparently the security guard's friend and roommate. They pronounced him dead at the scene. The shooter fled the scene, but was later apprehended. Police were investigating whether the man had shot his friend during a fight, or whether it was a case of accidental discharge, as the suspect claimed. It was believed that the two were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Meanwhile on Friday, a 27-year-old died from his wounds after being shot in Jaffa, possibly as a result of a criminal feud. The man was at the city's 'Las Vegas' car wash when the incident occurred.
