Police were surprised to receive a phone call on Friday afternoon from a 22-year-old security guard who claimed to have shot a man in an apartment in Kiryat Haim, near Haifa. "I shot my friend," the man said. "Send MDA here urgently." After ending the call, he fled the scene. An emergency response team which arrived at the scene discovered the body of a 19-year-old lone IDF soldier - apparently the security guard's friend and roommate. They pronounced him dead at the scene. The shooter fled the scene, but was later apprehended. Police were investigating whether the man had shot his friend during a fight, or whether it was a case of accidental discharge, as the suspect claimed. It was believed that the two were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Meanwhile on Friday, a 27-year-old died from his wounds after being shot in Jaffa, possibly as a result of a criminal feud. The man was at the city's 'Las Vegas' car wash when the incident occurred. He was taken to Holon's Wolfson Hospital in serious condition for treatment, but succumbed to his wounds. The perpetrator fled the scene. In Ramle, a man in his twenties was critically wounded on after being shot in the street. An MDA team evacuated him to Assaf Harofeh Medical Center in Tzrifin. Suspecting that the man was targeted deliberately by a criminal organization, large police forces were deployed to the scene. In yet another violent incident which occurred Friday, a man was killed and another seriously wounded when unidentified individuals opened fire at a nursing home in the Galilee village of Jat. At first, the two men were evacuated by an emergency response team in serious condition. However, one of them succumbed to his wounds on the way to Hadera's Hillel Yaffe Hospital. The dead man, aged 45, was a resident of Jat. The wounded man, aged 54, lives in neighboring Baka al-Gharbiyah. Police launched investigations into the three incidents.
