Border Police troops were involved in a heavy exchange of gunfire with Palestinian gunmen in the northern West Bank town of Kabatya Thursday evening.
A senior Aksa Martyrs Brigades gunmen was killed in the clashes.
According to Palestinian sources, three bystanders were also killed in the battle.
The troops had surrounded the home of a wanted Palestinian terrorist in the town when the firefight began.
