Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was taken to the Hadassah Ein Karem hospital in southern Jerusalem just before 8 p.m. Sunday evening, Zaka reported.
The prime minister, who will be 78 in February, suffered a light stroke, and was taken directly to the trauma room in the hospital. He lost consciousness on the way.
The hospital director was on his way to the trauma room.
