The Central Elections Committee on Thursday barred Shas from distributing to its prospective voters the Book of Psalms bearing blessings from the late Rabbi Kadouri.
The ban was requested two weeks ago by Meretz-Yahad faction head Zehava Gal-On, citing a law forbidding distribution of benefits, including religious ritual articles, as part of an elections campaign.
