Six commissions to investigate war in Lebanon

Six secondary commissions of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee will begin within a few days to investigate the war in Lebanon, the IDF's deployment of its troops and the readiness of the Home Front Command, it was reported on Sunday morning. The commissions are expected to complete their investigations within a year, Israel Radio reported. The prime minister, defense minister, foreign minister, deputy chief of staff and northern commander will be called to testify before the commissions as well as IDF soldiers, reservists and officers. Members of the commissions also intend to hear testimonies from those who held key positions within the last six years. Reportedly, the commissions will set up teams in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa and Beersheba to hear the testimonies of the witnesses.
