Bank of Israel Governor Stanley Fischer said on Monday that if universities in Israel wish to retain their level of education they need to raise large funds. He stated that this should come from the raising of university fees paid by students.
Fischer added that higher fees are necessary in order to enable universities to hire the senior academic staff that they need and to continue advancing Israeli technology.
