The state asked the High Court of Justice on Friday morning to reject the petition by residents of the Amona settlement in the West Bank to delay the government's intention to demolish the nine stone buildings in the settlement next week.
The state's response to the petition stated that over the past few days Amona residents had been carrying out preparations to resist the demolition in the context of their campaign against law enforcement authorities, Israel Radio reported. The state urged the court to reject the petition, saying that residents' willingness to board up the homes did not constitute a removal of the illegal buildings.
On Thursday, Supreme Court Justice Salim Jubran ordered the state to respond by Friday morning to the request to delay the demolition of the permanent buildings in the settlement.
