State atty. backs extraditing Jordanian suspects

The State Attorney's Office said Tuesday that Israel's decision to extradite Jordanian prisoners accused of killing two IDF reservists was a diplomatically significant one, Army Radio reported. The state attorney said that the extradition was important in order for Israel to comply with its end of international accords. The High Court of Justice has been petitioned by Almagor, a group that advocates for victims of terror, and the family of one of the murdered reservists to keep the prisoners in Israel. According to Army Radio, the state attorney asked the High Court to rule on the petition as quickly as possible, as the prisoners were due to be extradited Tuesday afternoon.
