State says 4 out of 10 workers don't earn enough to pay taxes

Four out of every 10 employees in Israel don't earn enough to be liable for taxes, the State Revenue Division reported Monday.
According to the data, workers from the economically weakest sectors of society pay only 0.5% of the total tax revenues.
A Bank of Israel study published Monday showed that recent tax cuts have mainly benefited employees who were already financially secure.
