Former chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee MK Yuval Steinitz (Likud) called on Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Saturday to continue the IDF incursion into the Gaza Strip in order to free kidnapped soldier Cpl. Gilad Shalit.
Steinitz also demanded that the IDF expand the operation to uproot the terror infrastructure in the Gaza Strip and to destroy Kassam-building capabilities.
A Palestinian army similar to Hizbullah was being built in Gaza, he added, calling on Israel's government to stop this process immediately.
