Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni told the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Tuesday that UN Resolution 1701 has essentially been violated, MK Yuval Steinitz said following the committee meeting.
The resolution dictates the conditions of the truce between Israel and Hizbullah following last summer's war in Lebanon. However, both sides have been accused of violating the agreement.
Steinitz added that any achievements supposedly gained in the war were not achievements, but rather a failure.
