Civil Service Commissioner Shmuel Hollander has informed the Movement for Quality Government he is looking into the possibility of suspending civil service employees under investigation in
the Israel Tax Authority affair, the Movement for Quality Government said Monday.
On January 2, as suspects were being brought in for questioning, the watchdog organization called on Hollander to suspend the suspects from work while the matter was under investigation. The police brought 11 of the suspects to court and asked to either remand them in custody or place them under house arrest.
Among them were eight civil servants, including Tax Authority head Jacky Matza, and the head of the Prime Minister's Bureau, Shula Zaken.
