Tax Authority Director Jacky Matza announced his resignation to Finance Minister Avraham Hirchson on Sunday evening, Channel 10 reported.
Matza was recently questioned in a large-scale investigation, which aimed to expose corruption in the Tax Authority. Matza is suspected of bribery, breach of trust, fraud and illegal appointments in the Tax Authority.
A court ruling suspended Matza from operating as head of the Tax Authority until February 21st, but his resignation on Sunday preceded the end of his suspension.
