Tel Aviv area schools to close Mon. due to strike

The Secondary School Teachers' Union announced on Sunday evening that schools in the Tel Aviv area would be closed on Monday, continuing the strike the organization began last week. The teachers were protesting the failure of talks with the Finance Ministry to reach any agreements on teachers' salaries. Meanwhile, the National Union of Israeli Students announced on Sunday evening that students at Tel Aviv University and Kiryat Ono Academic College would strike on Tuesday in support of academic staff throughout the country. On Wednesday, students will also strike at colleges throughout the country.
