Jerusalem police on Tuesday arrested 13 residents of the city for dealing in drugs, police said.
The suspects, who are primarily residents of the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiya and the Shuafat refugee camp, were incriminated by a 25-year-old undercover police agent who posed as a drug dealer over the last several months, Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said.
The undercover cop, also an Arab resident of east Jerusalem, purchased an assortment of drugs, including heroin and cocaine, from each of the suspects multiple times, police said.
The drugs were also uncovered in a police search of the suspects' homes, while heroin was found inside a rubber glove inside one of the men's bodies.
The alleged drug dealers were brought to a Jerusalem court for a remand hearing on Tuesday, where they will be indicted on drug charges.
