Vilna'i fundraising to be investigated

State Comptroller Micha Lindenstraus said on Thursday he is looking into a complaint that Labor MK Matan Vilna'i received contributions in excess of the limits imposed by the Political Parties Law for party leadership primary campaigns. Vilna'i ran for head of his party and dropped out at the last minute to throw his support behind Shimon Peres. Vilna'i's office issued a statement to the effect that he was the only Labor candidate who had submitted a detailed list of the contributions he received and his expenditures in the campaign. Lindenstraus's spokeswoman, Shlomit Lavi, refused to say who had filed the complaint against Vilna'i.
