Watchdog group petitions against war probe members

The Movement for Quality Government in Israel on Monday petitioned the High Court of Justice against Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and his government for appointing both the CEO of Rafael Armaments and a former Mossad chief who is now Boeing's Israel representative to one of the two governmental probes into the war against Hizbullah. The respected government watchdog group, which has been leading a public campaign to establish a state commission of inquiry into the government's handling of the war, called the move a conflict of interests and asked Israel's highest court to issue an interim order banning the appointment of Yedidya Ya'ari and David Ivri to the government-controlled war investigation initiated by Olmert.
