Members of the Winograd Committee assigned to investigate the Second Lebanon War disagree on what parts of the prime minister's, defense minister's, and former IDF chief of staff's testimonies should be published, according to a response submitted Friday to the High Court of Justice to Meretz MK Zehava Gal-On's petition that the committee proceedings be made public.
Committee chairman Judge Eliahu Winograd wrote that any decision on the matter should take into account the fact that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Defense Minister Amir Peretz, and former Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. (res.) Dan Halutz believed that they were testifying in confidentiality.

Israel Radio reported that the state prosecutor requested on Friday that the High Court allow the committee to withhold the transcripts in question until its interim report is published.
In addition, the state prosecutor has asked that a broader panel of judges be appointed to examine the petition demanding the publication of the officials' testimony.
