WIZO has begun a telephone consultation service for parents of young children. Parents can call *6968 for information or to seek advice about a problem they are having with their child. Trained volunteers provide advice on how to deal with a variety of situations which could affect children under kindergarten age.
In its first month, the hotline has received hundreds of calls with issues ranging from how to tell a child his parents are divorcing to help shifting away from co-sleeping, WIZO said. There have also been a lot of calls from worried fathers and single mothers. The hotline is part of WIZO's services for parents and children.
