Writer Amoz Oz nominated for Man Booker Prize

Author Amos Oz was amongst those nominated for the 2007 Man Booker prize, the panel of judges announced Thursday night. The list of nominees contains 15 writers, including Salman Rushdie, Margaret Atwood and Philip Roth. The Man Booker Prize is considered one of the most prestigious prizes in the literary world and is given once every two years to authors from around the world whose books have been translated into or written in English. The winner, to be declared in June, will receive a grant of 60,000 pounds.
