Yishai presents amendments to Wisconsin plan

Industry and Trade Minister Eli Yishai presented on Tuesday morning several amendments to the Wisconsin plan - the government plan meant to integrate unemployed and welfare recipients back into the job market. The changes, based on the conclusions of the committee Yishai set up to deal with the subject, include a special track for those with difficulties such as physical and mental handicaps, those approaching retirement age, and individuals who have spent time in rehab, as well as others. Yishai also advised the program's managers to employ the participants in community service in order to get necessary work experience, and requested that more of the money the program would save the NII be reinvested in the community. Yishai said his requests had been received favorably.
