'Youth killed in clash with IDF'

Another Palestinian reportedly seriously hurt as soldiers disperse crowd in West Bank village.

A Palestinian teenager was killed and another was seriously wounded in clashes with IDF soldiers near Nablus in the West Bank on Saturday, Palestinian medical officials said.
A doctor at Nablus hospital said 16-year-old Mohammad Qadus died Saturday after being shot in the chest by Israeli security forces. A 17-year-old protester was also in serious condition after being shot in the head, Palestinian sources said.
The Jerusalem Post could not independently confirm the report.
In a statement issued Saturday night, the IDF said its soldiers were alerted to the village of Iraq Burin, near Nablus, in order to try and prevent clashes between Palestinians and residents of Bracha, a Samaria settlement. When the forces arrived at the scene, dozens of Palestinians hurled rocks at them, the army said in a statement.
The troops used rubber bullets and tear gascanisters to disperse the group of rock-throwing Palestinians and two Palestinianswere injured. No live ammunition was fired, the IDF stressed.
Clashes take place in the village on a nearly weekly basis over a waterwell that Palestinians claim Jewish settlers are trying to seize fortheir own use.
